Awakening mankind to a higher reality

The Bledsoe Institute for Research is a nonprofit working to understand the language emerging from the orbs of light, and the ways all living things communicate.

From one family's experience to shared global discovery

For nearly two decades, Chris Bledsoe and his family have witnessed the extraordinary: lights in the sky, messages of love, and encounters that have changed thousands of lives. Scientists and intelligence officials have taken notice.

Guided by divine inspiration and a message of universal love, the Bledsoe Institute for Research is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit where that story becomes shared discovery, with the family at its heart. We believe this reality is far more than it seems, and we're building the team, the tools, and the home to explore it seriously.

Research

Decoding the language emerging from the orbs, and studying how plants, animals, and consciousness communicate.

Community

Sacred gatherings, speaking events, and skywatches where believers and seekers can experience the mystery firsthand, together.

Legacy

A permanent home in the mountains of North Carolina, a sanctuary for long-term research, learning, and spiritual growth.

Help build the Institute from its very first chapter.

What are the orbs?

Lights that respond

Around the world, people report glowing spheres of light that seem to move with intention: hovering, changing color, splitting apart, and at times responding to those watching. They have been photographed and recorded on thermal and night-vision cameras.

Chris first saw them in January 2007 on North Carolina's Cape Fear River: two orange orbs across a field and a third directly overhead. Since then, hundreds and at times thousands have witnessed them at his skywatches.

Chris believes the orbs are benevolent and connected to the divine, and many witnesses describe a lasting peace. The Institute will bring scientists, trained observers, and advanced imaging into the field to document how the orbs behave and interact with people and living things.

A new kind of language

The orbs may be trying to speak

For years, witnesses have described the orbs as more than lights. They respond. They move with purpose. And in documented encounters, they have appeared alongside number sequences, codes, and characters resembling Ge'ez, the ancient script of Ethiopia and one of the oldest writing systems still in use today.

We believe these are not random. We believe they are the early signs of a language, and that it is directed at us.

The Bledsoe Institute exists to answer one question with scientific rigor: is the phenomenon attempting to communicate, and can we learn to understand it?

Still from the recording: characters, an eye-like form, and numbers within an orb

  1. Record

Capture encounters with synchronized cameras, spectral imaging, and environmental sensors, so every event becomes data rather than memory.

  2. Catalog

Build a permanent archive of every number, symbol, pattern, and movement observed, organized so researchers can study it.

  3. Decode

Bring together linguists, mathematicians, and pattern specialists, with AI tools now used to decode other forms of NHI communication.

  4. Respond

Carefully design and test ways to answer, under structured research protocols, in pursuit of two-way communication.

With the right team, instruments, and place to listen, we believe humanity can begin to understand a language no one has ever deciphered.

Beyond the orbs

Intelligence is all around us

The orbs may be the most visible part of the phenomenon, but they are not the only part. Chris's experiences, and those of many others, point to intelligence that reaches into the natural world itself.

Plants and the land

Witnesses have reported unusual effects on soil and plant growth around the phenomenon. We will study how living systems respond to these encounters.

Animals

Animals often seem to sense the phenomenon before people do. We'll observe their behavior and explore the deep bond between humans and animals.

Consciousness

From telepathic impressions to what Chris calls "mind sight," the phenomenon appears to interact with the mind. We'll work with researchers to study these experiences carefully and respectfully.

Cospecies healing

A central part of this work is exploring how humans, animals, and plants may support one another's wellbeing through presence, care, and connection.

A home for the phenomenon

Rooted in the mountains of North Carolina

The Institute's long-term home will be land in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and we intend to do more than build on it. We intend to form a relationship with it.

An orchard in bloom beneath the mountains

Nurture the land

Gardens, orchards, and regenerative care that return more to the land than we take.

A horse standing in a mountain pasture

Give animals a home

A sanctuary for rescued animals, and a place to study cospecies healing.

Forested mountain ridges and a river valley

A safe space for the phenomenon

Dark skies and quiet forest, where the orbs are welcomed rather than chased.

People gathered around a fire under a starry sky

Gather people

Retreats, skywatches, courses, and conferences in the mountains.

Help us secure the land

In one of his most vivid visions, Chris encountered the phenomenon among the red rock formations of the American Southwest. He was told that one day it would be filmed, so its message could be shared with the world.

Bledsoe Research Expeditions carries that vision forward. Equipped research vehicles and field camps allow the team to stay in remote, dark-sky locations for extended nighttime observation, documenting the phenomenon where it appears.

About Chris Bledsoe

The man at the center of the mystery

Chris Bledsoe is a North Carolina builder and father whose life changed in January 2007 on the banks of the Cape Fear River. What began as an unexplained encounter became nearly two decades of experiences with orbs of light and a compassionate feminine presence he calls "The Lady."

His story has been studied by scientists, researchers, and intelligence professionals, and he now speaks around the world about what he has witnessed and the message he believes it carries.

God is real, love is the foundation of everything, and the Kingdom of Heaven is within you.

UFO of God (2023) tells his story in his own words, from the first encounter through the years that followed.

Where your gift goes

What your gift builds

As a founding donor, you're helping us take the first essential steps.

A research team

Linguists, scientists, and pattern analysts devoted to decoding the phenomenon.

Scientific equipment

Synchronized imaging and sensors that turn every encounter into data.

A language archive

A permanent, searchable record of every symbol, number, and pattern observed.

Land for our home

A quiet, dark-sky place to listen, far from interference.

Every gift, large or small, lays a stone in the foundation.

Questions donors ask

Why do you believe the orbs are communicating?

Witnesses have documented numbers, codes, and characters resembling ancient Ethiopian Ge'ez script appearing in connection with the phenomenon. Patterns like these are what linguists look for when identifying a language. Our work is to record them rigorously and test that hypothesis.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. The Bledsoe Institute for Research is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You'll receive a receipt for every gift.

Do I need to share Chris's beliefs to support the Institute?

No. The Institute welcomes believers, skeptics, and the simply curious. What unites supporters is the conviction that these experiences deserve careful, serious study.

What will my gift fund first?

Founding gifts go toward the essentials: a dedicated research team, scientific equipment for field investigation, a permanent language archive, and land for the Institute's home in North Carolina.

Can I set up a monthly or recurring gift?

Yes. You can choose a monthly gift in the online form, or email us to set up recurring bank drafts (ACH).

Can I attend a skywatch?

Skywatches and gatherings are announced to our community first. Join the newsletter below to hear about upcoming dates.
